Gavin Rae joins Football Careers in a new recruitment role
- Having recently returned to the UK after ten years in Australia, Gavin takes up the role of Senior Consultant
Former Scotland international Gavin Rae has joined the expanding Football Careers team as a Senior Consultant.
The 46-year-old has returned to the UK after a 10-year spell in Australia, where he worked as a Head Coach in the National Premier League and also spearheaded a successful digital consultancy company.
Gavin, who won 14 Scotland caps in a 22-year career that encompassed more than 600 first team appearances in Scotland, England and Australia, said: “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to join the team at Football Careers, and hopefully to use my network of contacts to help with the continued growth and success of the company in the future.
“I’ve been involved in recruitment for quite some time now, mostly in the technology sector. It was a major element of the business I’ve been running in Australia over the last six years and I’m really looking forward to working with Football Careers and applying the skills I’ve built up over the years.
“I was actually involved with the company before I went out to Australia, when it first started up as Sports Careers, so you could say I’ve come full circle. I’ve watched the business grow and expand since then and alongside all the other services it provides, there’s also now a big emphasis on recruitment.
“That aspect of it really interests me. So when the chance came to link up with Football Careers, it was an exciting prospect for me.”
Gavin will work alongside Managing Directors Piero Carrino and Stewart Macgregor, who between them have two decades of experience in football recruitment.
