Football Careers is delighted to be working on a retained basis with Las Vegas Lights Football Club who are looking to recruit an experienced Director of Performance.

About us

Rooted in Downtown Vegas, they call the historic Cashman Field home. The club, who were launched in 2018, and were reborn under new ownership in 2024, are making their own history in the city.

The team plays in the Western Conference of the USL Championship and have already tasted success when qualifying for the playoffs in their first year under new ownership in 2024. Not only that, but the club also then progressed to the Western Conference final and are sure to be in the hunt again in season 2026. Under the ownership of MLB all-star, Jose Bautista, the club are going from strength to strength both on and off the field.

The Position

The Performance Director will ensure that athletes achieve an optimal level of performance by applying scientific knowledge to improve performance and help prevent injuries. They will work in collaboration with the Head Coach, Team Physicians, Athletic Trainers and Sporting Director.

The main duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:

  • Collaborate with the Head Coach and lead in the designing and administering of individualized pre-training activation protocols and in-season strength training sessions
  • Lead all practice warm-up activities in conjunction with the needs of the Head Coach
  • Manage all in-training GPS tagging, and post-session uploading of all training sessions
  • Lead all activation/regeneration sessions as needed
  • Lead all on-field warmup for team training sessions
  • Lead all end-stage rehab sessions when required
  • Educate and counsel players regarding strategies to improve performance
  • Manage, design, and implement weight room physical testing protocols including force plate technology
  • Evaluate player performance through performance testing, workload monitoring, and body composition testing
  • Provide feedback to players regarding all sports science data collected
  • Maintain the appearance and organization of equipment in weight facility, as well as educate and enforce weight room rule
  • Attend all important team/staff meetings
  • Participate in activities/meetings/programs as required by USL Championship.

The Person

  • You will be an experienced senior performance practitioner with a proven track record of delivering high quality performances at elite level sport.
  • You will be responsible for the welfare and performance of the locker room and so must be able to demonstrate an honest work ethic, great stakeholder management and desire for success.
  • Only qualified individuals will be considered for this position, and you must be able to work in America and have the right to do so.
