Beijing, China
Established in 2001, China ClubFootball is one of China’s biggest grassroots football providers, and a licensed joint-venture. Managed by UK nationals, ClubFootball operates a football development programme for Chinese and international children in Beijing, as well as PE programmes, junior league competitions, and coach education projects for local teachers and coaches. ClubFootball has provided an on-the-ground presence on projects for a range of partners including the Ministry of Education, Premier League, Nike, and British Council.
ClubFootball is seeking qualified, talented, and passionate coaches to join its growing team of UK coaches based in Beijing. Coaches should be motivated and adaptable, enjoy coaching players of all abilities, and able to work effectively with local translator coaches. Coaches are supported by a highly-qualified coach management team with regular CPD and opportunities for development and progression within the club also available.
Coaching programmes offer coaches the opportunity to work with both Chinese and international children aged 4 to 18 at locations across the city using the FA’s ‘4-Corner Model’. Coaches work on a range of programmes, from skills courses for beginners through to teams which compete locally and internationally across Asia. PE programmes also run in local and bilingual schools, as well as coach education projects with the Ministry of Education.
In all programmes and at all levels, the club focuses on the long-term technical development of the player and the educational development of the whole child, rather than short-term results.
Candidates should have a track record of delivering high-quality coaching programmes and be passionate about working with young players of all ages and levels. The ability to adapt quickly to a new environment and see cultural differences as challenges rather than drawbacks is essential; life in China is fascinating but quite different to the UK. Overseas experience is advantageous but not essential. Programmes are delivered using the English FA’s 4-Corner Model so coaches from the UK or with considerable experience of coaching in the UK are preferred.
