Job Purpose

To head, deliver and maintain an elite football programme that encompasses the highest standards of provision for both future professionals and beginners to the sport.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead on Performance Football, all Rossall Football structures, teams, staff and culture
  • Oversee the Performance Football Coaching Staff, assessing and improving them.
  • Responsible for Playing Structure and Performance of Rossall Teams
  • Establish links with National & International Academies to create potential recruitment or placement opportunities.
  • Establish exit links for Rossall pupils through clubs, academies, universities or gap years
  • Coach on 1st XI teams
  • Create and lead an EPPP structure within the Rossall School Community
  • Create and structure the Rossall ILP process
  • Ensure robust feedback structures are in place for Players, Parents & Staff
  • In conjunction with the DoS, identify and work on all player recruitment in football
  • In conjunction with the DoS, identify and create international recruitment structures and partnership opportunities
  • Lead on all Football departmental meetings
  • In conjunction with the Head of Performance create a market leading athletic development programme
  • Any other duties assigned by the Assistant Head (Director of Sport)

Other

  • Required for Saturday and cup fixtures as agreed with the Assistant Head (Director of Sport) at the commencement of each term
  • To safeguard the general health and safety of pupils.
  • To participate in all relevant meetings as required.
  • Undertake a boarding house duty
  • If residing on site, evening gym activity or organised sessions required

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Sports Coaching

  • Elite Level Coaching or Playing Experience
  • Uefa Pro or A Licence Qualification an advantage
  • Experience in elite Sport or Academy Sporting Structures an advantage

  • A professional, yet caring and compassionate approach to dealing with students
  • Conscientiousness, enthusiasm and the ability to sustain long hours during term time, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to develop a rapport with pupils throughout the school
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines

The Football Performance Lead will work term time plus six weeks; 2 weeks of Michaelmas Pre Season, 2 weeks of in-season tours and 2 weeks of Summer Camps. The salary is competitive depending on skills and experience.
