Ascension Flight Soccer Club is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit. The mission of Ascension Flight Soccer Club is to provide every player the opportunity to enjoy the game of soccer by providing a fun and safe environment, encouraging physical, mental, and social growth, while promoting integrity, good sportsmanship and the growth of soccer in our community.

The role

The main responsibilities of the Director of Competitive Soccer at Ascension Flight is to administer, direct and lead on all facets of the competitive program including but not limited to tryouts, creating of teams, onboarding of coaches, preparing parents, coaches and team managers for the season and then providing in-season support for all.

The main responsibilities of the Director of Club Operations at Ascension Flight is to prepare and execute the logistical, uniform and site maintenance roles to ensure that Flight players, parents, coaches and staff receive a first class club and complex experience.

Director of Competitive Soccer

Oversee all matters related to the competitive program, including but not limited to:

• Administering, directing and leading the tryout process from start to finish
• Onboarding of new coaches, including coaches contracts.
• Scheduling of competitive coach meetings
• Aiding coaches in working through LSA Policy
• Working alongside coaches through parent/player or LSA conflicts.
• Oversee the registration experience of the Competitive Program including and notwithstanding the future planning, execution and improvements.
• Present competitive reports to Club Executive when asked.
• Create, implement and maintain operational handbooks across the competitive program.
• Tactfully, diplomatically and collaboratively working alongside all parents, coaches and team managers to establish clear lines of communication and assisting in resolving incidents through until resolution.

Profile – Director of Competitive Soccer 

• Acts as an ambassador and face of the Soccer Club.
• Able to demonstrate empathy for others and their concerns while also showing a strong sense of community and support for the Soccer Club’s volunteers, coaches, managers, staff and board members when handling issues/concerns.
• Has a high level of social and interpersonal intelligence, exudes charisma and has a natural ability to connect with others.
  Demonstrates the desire to get to know all members of the interconnected community.
• Has the ability to adapt to how Ascension Flight operates and brings forward improved thinking to the operation to aid in a smoother workflow process.
• A quick learner who can lead oneself while able to ask leadership questions for guidance.

Director of Operations

GotSport/Registration Platform & Uniforms

• Oversee and manage all operations within the onboarding process through GotSport, including but not limited to Recreational, Academy and Competitive Players and coaches before the start of the season.
• Oversee and manage all components building up to (and during) the successful application of all Club members collecting their Club uniforms.

Field Management & Assignment (Including Referee assigning)

• Creates field layout for all club events.
• Oversee and manage all field assignments for Flight training schedules (Including, competitive, academy, recreation and the sub-programs within them), goalkeeper training schedules and any non-flight training sessions.
• Oversee and manage all aspects of all Flight team’s field assignments for any and all games (Scrimmages, friendlies, league, and other), including but not limited to any additional external games (i.e., High School, Non-Flight affiliated team vs Non-Flight affiliated team, etc).
• Oversees the referee assignor and the uploading of games for referee assignor and assign appropriate referees based upon the referee pool that is available.
• Oversees necessary soccer-based equipment (Included but not limited to Goals, Nets, Corners Flags, goal weights, benches, goal # signs, and anything connected to making sure the fields are prepared for the season)

Profile – Director of Operations

• Acts as an ambassador and face of the Soccer Club.
• Has the desire and ability to become a subject matter expert within all registration platforms, both internal (Flight platform) and external (State Soccer, tournament and regional platforms).
• Has the ability to work independently to troubleshoot internal and external issues while also competent at identifying and working alongside external parties (LeagueApps, Mod11, Squadi, LSA, other Soccer Clubs) to resolve any issues.
• Has the ability to adapt to how Ascension Flight operates and brings improved thinking to the operation to aid in a smoother workflow process.
• A quick learner who can lead oneself while able to ask leadership questions for guidance.

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s Degree, USSF C Licence (Or equivalent).
