Head of Football Operations

We are looking for a driven and entrepreneurial individual with a strong background in football and talent development to lead on an exciting project in West Africa.

Who We Are

We are a collective of investors with over 20 years of combined experience of leading companies in West Africa. Together, we have a mission of supporting talented footballers and individuals in Ghana to maximize their potential and discover excellent opportunities to be recognized on a global scale. To achieve this, we are establishing a football academy that will identify, nurture and develop the talent of young footballers in the region.

The Role

We are looking for a Head of Football Operations to take ownership and responsibility for the day-to-day management of the project. This person will help define the vision of the academy whilst familiarizing themselves with the intricacies of the football landscape. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Creating the framework to scout the players throughout Ghana, as well as training them to enhance and progress their quality of Football.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders on the ground such as existing academies, the Football Association and other local authorities.
  • Establishing a training and development framework for prospective footballers and graduates.
  • Building the right environment for the academy, whilst supervising the staff, players and surroundings.
  • Act as the face and driving force of the project for external communications and engagements.
  • Be responsible for the health and wellbeing of academy players; ensuring that they are developing in an environment that is productive, nurturing and healthy.

Required Experience & Skills

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills:

  • Minimum of 7 years working in football operations, talent identification and coaching – knowledge of the African football landscape is preferable.
  • Clear understanding of regulations around working with young players and the necessary provisions that must be made.
  • Ability to create and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders.
  • Project management experience in setting objectives, meeting deadlines, actioning strategies and submitting progress reports to the Board.
  • Strong communication skills to deliver both internal and external messaging as required.
  • Existing ties to football clubs in key football markets such as around Europe are considered an advantage.
  • Willingness to relocate to West Africa to fulfil the responsibilities and duties of the role.

In addition to a base salary, and performance-based bonuses, the successful candidate will have an allowance for day-to-day expenses, travel and accommodation.
