Head of Goalkeeping

Overview

Cavalry FC is seeking a full-time Head of Goalkeeping to lead the development, performance, and long-term growth of our First Team and Academy (Cavalry FC II) goalkeepers. This role is central to aligning goalkeeper training with the club’s philosophy, game model, and performance objectives across the professional and development environments.

Key Responsibilities:

First Team (CPL)

• Lead the planning, delivery, and development of all First Team goalkeeper training sessions.
• Provide game-day goalkeeper warmups and real-time match feedback (home and away).
• Build, monitor, and support individualized training plans based on player needs and performance analysis.
• Support technical staff with the design and implementation of defensive set-plays.

Academy / Cavalry FC II

• Lead the development of all Academy (Cavalry FC II) goalkeepers through a minimum of two weekly training sessions.
• Plan and oversee the integration and mentorship of Academy goalkeepers into First Team training environments, when appropriate.
• Support individualized development plans for all Academy goalkeepers.
• Provide quartlery feedback within the feedback windows for Academy goalkeepers.

Performance Analysis & Technology

• Utilize WyScout and/or Hudl to deliver:
• Post-match reviews with First Team goalkeepers
• Pre-match analysis of opposition attackers
• Pre-match analysis of opposition set plays
• Use VEO to record training sessions and provide video-based feedback as required.

Program Leadership

• Plan, deliver, and evaluate goalkeeper sessions in alignment with Cavalry FC’s technical framework and game model.
• Collaborate with coaching and performance staff to ensure a cohesive developmental pathway for all club goalkeepers.
• Participate in one club positional specifc community camp per annum to share club DNA.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports directly to:

• Head Coach, Cavalry FC First Team
• Technical Director, Cavalry FC Academy / Cavalry FC II

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $60,000 – $75,000 per annum (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
• Housing Allowance: $12,000 per annum
• Health Benefits: Spruce Meadows health plan
• Travel: In-market and out-of-market travel included
• Contract Term: Two-year guaranteed contract with a one-year club option

Qualifications

• UEFA A Licence (or equivalent) – preferred
• UEFA B Licence (or equivalent) – minimum requirement
• Formal Goalkeeping Coaching Licences – highly important
• Demonstrated experience developing goalkeepers within professional or elite youth environments
• Strong proficiency with performance analysis platforms (WyScout, Hudl) and video tools (VEO)
