Salary:

£50,000 – £60,000

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY

  • Develop a goalkeeper curriculum that works alongside the Welsh Way National Syllabus and FAW tactical principles framework.
  • ​Support the plan-do-review process and ensure effective support is provided to the head coach and goalkeepers across camps.
  • ​Support the development of the national team goalkeepers through effective multi-disciplinary collaboration.
  • ​Provide strategic oversight of the talent mapping for all national team goalkeepers, through regular player audits.
  • ​Develop appropriate individual plans for national team goalkeepers and connect with relevant clubs to ensure smooth transition.
  • ​Develop a system to support the high potential players
  • ​Strategically monitor and provide support to all goalkeepers across the pathway in consolation with consultant goalkeeper coaches.
  • ​Deliver highly detailed goalkeepers specific sessions that consider the technical, tactical, physical and psych-social development of the goalkeepers.
  • ​Support the Elite Goalkeeper coach education courses, through workshops, seminars and best practice.
  • ​Develop resources and projects that specifically develop shared learning across the technical department.
  • ​Contribute to wider technical requests at the discretion of the Chief Football Officer | Head of Player Development.
  • ​Adhere to FAW Safeguarding, Policies, Practices & Procedures

Essential

  • Exceptional interpersonal and team-working skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire and enthuse.
  • ​Experienced coach who can engage and create effective learning environments.
  • ​Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • ​Ability to plan, deliver and reflect efficiently.
  • ​Highly motivated and committed to player development and passionate to develop each individual
  • ​A strong commitment to equality, inclusion and diversity.
  • ​Flexible and adaptable, operating with high integrity at all times.
  • ​Extensive knowledge of working with goalkeepers and developing coaches in elite environments.
  • ​Ability to contribute to Elite Goalkeepers Coach Education Courses, seminars and workshops.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential

  • UEFA A’ Licence Goalkeeper.
  • ​Experience in managing people and teams.
  • ​Minimum of 10 years experience coaching in elite youth and / or senior football in professional football.
  • ​Proven track record in working alongside a head coach within the youth development and professional phase.
  • ​Proven track record in developing youth goalkeepers into senior football.

Desirable

  • UEFA A Licence Outfield Coaching.

ROLE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Willing to work unsociable hours with travel both nationally and internationally.
  • ​Essential Car user – Full drivers licence.
  • ​The ability to speak Welsh is advantageous.
  • ​The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check for regulated activity
