The Head of Player Recruitment is responsible for identifying, evaluating and recommending talented players who can contribute to the success of Roda JC. The Head of Player Recruitment develops and implements the vision on scouting and talent recognition, focusing on the specific context of Roda JC, including the financial and geographical situation in which we operate. In addition, the Head of Player Recruitment is responsible for the leadership and coordination of the scouting process and team.

Place in organization

The Head of Player Recruitment is accountable to the technical manager. During transfer periods, the Head of Player Recruitment joins the technical consultation.

Tasks and responsibilities – Scouting

• Developing and implementing a vision on scouting that is in line with the objectives of Roda JC;
• Leading and managing the scouting apparatus;
• Giving advice to the technical manager in the composition of the selection;
• Identifying target areas for player recruitment within the vision;
• Presenting findings and giving advice on player recruitment taking into account both sporting performance and the creation of transfer value;
• Visiting matches and training sessions to gain market knowledge;
• Analyzing player performance and potential, using both subjective assessment, video scouting and different types of data;
• Preparation of detailed scouting reports and video clips to support advice on players;
• Identifying and assessing talented players within the academy, so that the club gains timely insight into potential promotion candidates.

Tasks and responsibilities – Technical policy

• Supporting the development and interpretation of a long-term football strategy for the club;
• Maintaining contacts with other clubs, football organisations, agents and other relevant stakeholders on a technical level;
• Gathering knowledge about contract management of players as well as the laws and regulations surrounding transfers.
• Result: Ensuring the successful identification and recruitment of talented players to make the selection of Roda JC as competitive as possible.

Job requirements

• In-depth knowledge of football, player development and talent identification;
• Experience with talent identification and scouting;
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a role within the football industry;
• Skilled in the use of scouting software and data platforms;
• Completed HBO education in sports management or a related field is an advantage;
• Language skills in different languages, preferably Dutch, English, German are an advantage.

• A full-time position (40 hours).
• A gross monthly salary of between €3,600 and €3,800.
