Applications must be submitted by Monday, 7th April 2025

The role

Kolding IF of the Danish 2nd tier is searching for a new assistant coach with a heavy emphasis and focus on coaching set-pieces.

Kolding is a club that is growing a lot these years, finishing 3rd last season after getting promoted the season before, and in the process of building a new stadium with the new mainstand being ready in December 2025.

After selling both the Head Coach and the Assistant Coach to Bundesliga clubs in the summer (Union Berlin and Mainz 05), a new coaching staff needed to be put together, which led to the appointment of a new Spanish head coach in January. However, the newly assembled coaching staff still lacks an extra resource that can boost the output and focus on set-pieces and general analysis.

The aim is to add a coach with a huge drive to develop themself and the team, and who is able to delve deeply into their areas of responsibility with the main focus of making Kolding the best set-piece team in Denmark. The role will also involve supporting the rest of the coaching staff on the pitch every training, plus video analysis responsibilities such as individual opponent analysis and our individual development plans (IDPs) with certain players.

You will become part of an international staff that includes people from Denmark, Spain, the Czech Republic, and the United States, and a group that shares a modern vision and aims to succeed with a playstyle that includes both the positional style of play and a high, intense pressing style.

Required:

  • You have a desire for coaching and analyzing set-pieces, that being your main focus and responsibility
  • You have an interest in gathering information and inspiration to what is best practice around the world, through both video and data
  • You can prepare and present your own weekly video analysis
  • You can support the rest of the coaching staff every day on the pitch, helping set up and execute drills
  • You can take responsibility for and set up video equipment for matches and training

Desired:

  • You have previous experience with coaching set pieces and a portfolio of work to show this
  • You have coached at the senior level before
  • You have experience with doing individual technical training
  • You have experience working with coding in Sportscode

What we offer:

  • Full-time salary
  • Help to find a place to live in the city
  • Being part of an ambitious club and international coaching staff
  • A great window of opportunity in a very open and transparent club with the possibility of growing inside the organisation
  • Becoming a part of a club with a proven track record of developing coaches to top leagues in Europe
  • Opportunity to work with specialists like the world’s most renowned throw-in coach

Application Information

In the application, we expect you to describe your thought process and philosophy behind how you want to coach and analyse set pieces.
