Job Role

Take a leading role in the identification, profiling, and evaluation of potential player targets for the First Team and affiliated clubs within the ownership group. The role will focus on in-depth scouting and analysis across domestic and international markets, supporting the club’s overall recruitment strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • A key decision maker in player scouting and profiling process for the First Team and affiliated clubs within the ownership group, integrating data-driven analysis with both live and videobased assessments.
  • Produce comprehensive scouting reports and player dossiers to support recruitment decisions.
  • Present detailed video packages and visual breakdowns of recruitment targets to senior staff.
  • Integrate data insights into player evaluations, using the club’s player statistical database.
  • Maintain and develop the club’s positional databases with updated profiles, reports, and ratings.
  • Attend domestic and international fixtures to evaluate players in live games.
  • Build strong knowledge of relevant player markets and maintain an up-to-date watchlist of potential targets.
  • Identify standout talent and recommend further scouting by senior staff.
  • Work with the Analysis Department to align profiling outputs with the club’s playing philosophy and performance needs.
  • Support the coordination of scouting assignments when required.
  • Contribute to the development of internal scouting processes and systems.
  • Mentor and set task management of interns and Technical Scouts.
  • Attend recruitment meetings and provide input based on scouting intelligence.
  • Perform any other duties as required by the Head of Recruitment or Management Team.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

  • A minimum of three years’ experience at 1st team level of a professional football club.
  • In-depth knowledge of players and teams across key leagues and levels, with an ability to translate observations into tactical and individual performance insights.
  • Proven experience using scouting and analysis tools such as Wyscout, HUDL, Sportscode.
  • Familiarity with data-driven platforms (e.g., Statsbomb, SkillCorner, ScoutHub, TransferRoom) is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a flexible and proactive mindset.
  • Experience preparing and presenting scouting reports to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Professional conduct with strong discretion and confidentiality.
