SoCal Reds “Pre Club Academy” Program (PCA):

PCA is a program that offers organized soccer for players who want to play at a more competitive level, but want to remain in Recreational Soccer. It serves as a fantastic platform for the players that want to push themselves and eventually be part of the competitive soccer world. PCA prides itself on its professional coaching and development philosophy.

Terms and Conditions:

Coaching placement/role will start February 24th 2025.

Non US based coaches will be paid by Community Athletic Solutions who will also handle successful applicants visa process

Applicants must

  • Be 21 or older
  • Possess a recognized football coaching certificate
  • Hold a valid driver license
  • Be able to attend an assessment and orientation event in Derby in November 2024
  • Be a recent degree program graduate (within 12 months) or currently studying (remotely)
    OR
  • Be enrolling on a remote degree and wish to study and work abroad
    OR
  • Have 5 years of demonstrable sports or business related experience
  • Access to a vehicle and shared room in a house share is provided/optional for all seasonal staff
  • Visa Application Fee & Flight to the US is not included in any of the coaching fees
  • Prior to entry into the US, applicants are required to have personal medical insurance (part of Visa).
  • Upon arrival into the US – must become compliant with US Club Soccer coaching requirements
    (including online coaching license, fingerprinting and safeguarding courses).
  • Coaches will also be required to adhere to, and sign, a code of conduct.
  • Approx. hours per week – 32

Essential Job Functions:

  • Design and deliver progressive sessions to the boys and girls PCA players.
  • Ensure sessions are continually challenging in order to facilitate individual player development
  • Deliver all match day preparations, including team selections & warm ups.
  • Identify and recruit talented players at lower age levels and those not playing in club.
  • Lead coaching sessions in Junior & Mini Reds clinics and camps.
  • Help with the smooth running of daily operations.
  • Provide feedback to parents on the performance and progress of their child.
  • Deliver engagement and after school programs and other such community outreach programs.
  • Deliver basic sessions in sports including cricket, badminton and tennis.
  • Complete daily administrative, marketing and operational tasks across all programs.
  • This may include phone calls and responding to parent questions.
  • Work as part of a team to organize equipment, apparel, uniforms, fields (including set up).
  • Set up, manage and tear down practice and game day field(s).
  • Work a coach mentoring program
  • Coach within SoCal Reds Center of Excellence and All Star Programs.
  • Build teams capable of competing at U8-U12 age divisions in competitive club soccer.
  • Provide weekly email to teams
  • Attend weekly meetings at the office.
  • Duties may take place in both an office environment as well as outside on a field.

Role of an SoCal Reds coach:

  • Set high standards of professionalism and demonstrate a high standard of conduct, thus providing
    a good role model for young players.
  • Supervise and be responsible for a group of young players at all times during training and game
    days, ensuring the safety of all as your first priority.
  • Demonstrate both management and communication skills to players, parents, team managers and
    colleagues.
  • Set clear expectations to parents on appropriate sideline behavior before, during and after games.
  • Promote SoCal Reds and our programs at all times.
  • Must be punctual at all times.
  • Remain professional, representing SoCal Reds during tournaments, practices and games
  • Be willing to assist when necessary, in programs outside the current designated program.
