Football Careers is glad to announce Chris Smith has been appointed Executive Director at Toronto High Park FC. The Canadian club is based in the High Park neighbourhood of the city and is open to both youth and adults in competitive and leisure settings.
The club is passionate about its local community, with an emphasis on involving the local area and developing the players from it. Their mission is to:
“Promote and develop the game of soccer in the City of Toronto, and in particular High Park and its surrounding neighbourhoods; and to help individuals – particularly children and youth – become resourceful, responsible members of their communities, by providing opportunities, through the game of soccer, for mental, physical, social and leadership development.”
Chris comes into the role with a wealth of experience, having run his own professional football services consultancy, CSmith Consulting. He has also been the Head of Soccer Academy at Celtic for four years, as well as Assistant Coach of the women’s side in 2021-22. He is skilled across business development, coach education and club development, with over twenty years of experience working with clubs.
We think that Chris and Toronto High Park are a perfect match, both passionate about community football and developing talent. There is a huge potential for growth in Canadian soccer and Chris is the ideal person to maximise that.
Football Careers wishes both Chris and the club all the best for the future and can’t wait to see their journey together.
