Dean Holden made Assistant Manager at Adana Demirspor
- Holden has coached at clubs such as Oldham, Bristol City, Stoke, and Charlton
- He was most recently Steven Gerrard's Assistant at Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq
Football Careers are happy to see client Dean Holden appointed Assistant Manager of Adana Demirspor. The Turkish side currently sits bottom of the Süper Lig after a points deduction, and is expected to be in the 1. Lig next season.
Holden joined the Adana-based side in February 2024, having most recently worked as Steven Gerrard’s Assistant at Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ettifaq. His coaching career began in 2013 after a playing career that saw him make over 350 appearances for clubs such as Oldham, Peterborough, Falkirk, and Shrewsbury, winning League Two in 2010-11 with Chesterfield.
Holden’s first role in coaching was as a Senior PDP Coach (Under-21s Coach) at Walsall, where he later returned to take up the position of First Team Coach. Since then he has also been Interim Manager, Assistant Manager, and First Team Coach at former club Oldham, Assistant Head Coach and then Head Coach at Bristol City, Assistant Manager at Stoke, and First Team Manager at Charlton Athletic.
He is an extremely hardworking individual who has earned his UEFA Pro Licence, and whose coaching career has seen him work in different cultures and settings.
Adana Demirspor is a club that has traditionally bounced between the top three tiers of Turkish football, with their closest touch to major success being a Turkish Cup runners-up medal in 1977-78.
However, the club has seen recent success in qualifying for the UEFA Conference League in 2022-23 and securing promotion in 2020-21, winning the 1.Lig title for the fourth time.
We believe that Dean and the management team at the club are the right people to guide Adana Demirspor to future success. We wish them all the best in the coming seasons.
