Massimo Donati named Head Coach of Sampdoria
Donati has taken the reins at the historic Italian side. The former Atalanta, Milan, Celtic, and Bari midfielder began his coaching career in 2019 as part of Kilmarnock’s coaching staff. He has since been manager of Italy’s Legnago Salus and Greek Super League outfit Athens Kallithea. He joins La Samp as they look to be promoted back to Serie A.
Sam Stockley made Academy Manager at Stoke City
Alongside his new role at the Championship club, Stockley is also a Coaching Educator, Mentor and Assessor at FAW Trust. He has also served as Sporting Director for Lexington Sporting Club, who play in USL League One and are based in Kentucky.
David Longwell and Barry Nicholson join Dundee
Football Careers has seen two clients placed in roles at Dundee recently. David Longwell — who has held positions at St Mirren, Orlando City, New York Red Bulls, Burnley and Fylde — has been appointed as Technical Manager.
Barry Nicholson, who had a playing career spanning nineteen years, featuring for Dunfermline, Aberdeen, and Preston, has been brought in as First Team Coach under Manager Steven Pressley.
Frankie McAvoy appointed First Team Coach at Carlisle United
Joining National League side Carlisle United, McAvoy will work under former Manchester City manager Mark Hughes. McAvoy has previously managed Preston in the EFL Championship and has also worked with Hearts and AFC Fylde.
