Football Careers Client News
- Alex Neil appointed Manager at Millwall; Brian Barry-Murphy as Assistant at Leicester City
- James Rowberry made Assistant at Stoke City; Jordan Tait promoted to Under-18 Head at Coventry
Football Careers are thrilled to see new roles for four of our clients.
Brian Barry-Murphy has been appointed as First Team Coach at Leicester City. The move sees him working under Premier League legend and former PSV boss Ruud van Nistelrooy. Barry-Murphy had previously worked at Manchester City, as head coach of their elite development squad. Before the move was made official, the Dutchman said of Barry-Murphy…
“It’s a very important factor in the translation of the game model to the training pitch, developing the team, the unit and individual to the max. He is excellent in that and I’m very happy to add him to the team.”
James Rowberry has joined Stoke City as an Assistant to new manager Mark Robins. He will combine his new role with his existing one as an Assistant to Craig Bellamy under a new look Wales side. The move sees him join a Stoke City side looking to rise up the Championship table, currently sitting in 19th. Getting Robins was seen as a huge coup for the Potters, as his reputation soared with several promotions and an FA Cup semi-final with Coventry City.
Alex Neil has become Millwall’s new Head Coach on a long-term contract. His vast experience of Championship and EFL football – having previously managed Preston North End, Sunderland, Stoke and more – will make him a popular choice at The Den. Neil has experience of getting promoted out of the second tier to the Premier League with Norwich, and with Millwall only 10 points of the play-off places with a large chunk of the season still to go, a positive start might gain some momentum.
Jordan Tait has been promoted to Under-18 (Professional Development Phase) lead at Coventry City. He has been impressing at the club for a number of years and we see this promotion as a reward for all his efforts. The club – now managed by Frank Lampard – are well-known for their ability to produce and nurture young talent, and Tait is a huge part of the future of the football club.
Football Careers believe these are all the ideal fits for our clients, and we’re excited to see what the future brings for all of them.
