Football Careers are excited to see a number of clients appointed to new roles across the UK and US this summer.
Greig Robertson appointed National Educator Developer at US Soccer
Greig’s illustrious coaching career includes eighteen years at Scottish giants Celtic, before he moved to the US to become Director of Coaching at Boston Bolts. He later took up the Technical Director role at the same club in August 2024. Now, the UEFA Pro Licence holder will share his expertise in a national-level role.
Jon Connolly named Head of Goalkeeping at Greenock Morton
Connolly began his playing career in 1998 at Albion Rovers and featured for clubs such as Motherwell, Dumbarton, and East Stirlingshire. He was most recently at Queen of the South, where he was Goalkeeping Coach. Connolly now takes on a new challenge in the Scottish Championship.
David Hughes joins Newport County as Head Coach
The former Welsh defender played for Aston Villa, Shrewsbury, and Cardiff City. His most recent role was as Professional Development Phase Coach at Manchester United, having been brought in by Erik ten Hag.
Steve Cooke appointed Technical Director for Youth and Academy Programs at Lexington SC
Speaking to the club media about his appointment at the USL Championship side, Steve said:
“I look forward to adding to the excellent work already underway at the club with a daily commitment to creating a culture of excellence, and a strong desire to maximise the abilities of every person and player. Together we will strive for success on the field of play, and we will support all of our coaches, players and families as they navigate their unique journeys in soccer and in life.”
Dave Rogers promoted to Under-18s PDP Lead Coach at Coventry City
Rogers had been Under-15/16s Coach at the EFL Championship club since February 2025 but has now moved up an age group. He brings a wealth of experience gained at clubs around the world, including Liverpool F.C.’s International Academy in India and South Korea, and Finn Harps in Ireland.
Kentaro Takada appointed Academy Head Coach at IMG Academy
Takada had most recently been at MLS side Atalanta United for four years, where he was an Academy Coach and Regional Development School Coordinator. Previously, he coached at Life University and was Technical Director & Select Director for Triumph Youth Soccer Association in Georgia.
Craig Fleming joins Bristol City as Assistant Head Coach
He will now work alongside Gerhard Struber as the club looks to build on a good Championship campaign last season. Fleming was most recently assistant to former Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhüttl at Wolfsburg.
