James Thomas joins Peyia-Akamas Ladies FC as Head Coach

Football Careers is delighted to see client James Thomas appointed as Head Coach of Peyia-Akamas Ladies FC. The team will play in the Cyprus Women’s First Division in the coming season.

Thomas was most recently at Newcastle United, where he spent eight months as Women’s Academy Manager. He has also been a Talent Reporter (Women’s Pathway) at The Football Association, First Team Manager at Gwalia United in Wales, Women’s Academy Manager at Bristol City, and Head Coach of Trinidad and Tobago’s women’s senior national team.

He has over 25 years experience and holds the UEFA A & UEFA Elite Youth A Licences. Thomas’s experience and expertise will serve him well at Peyia-Akamas Ladies, who will compete in their first season of professional football this year. It is, as described by the club, a long-term project designed to establish a professional, sustainable and competitive environment in which players and staff can thrive.

Speaking to the club media, Thomas stated:

“I’m excited to join Peyia-Akamas LFC. This is a club with real ambition, and I’m looking forward to building an environment where every player and member of staff can be genuinely proud of what we achieve together.”

This is an exciting step for James and we look forward to watching his journey with the club unfold. We wish them all the best in the coming years as they look to make waves in Cypriot and women’s football.
