Football Careers client Jordan Tait has taken the next step in his coaching journey, joining Polish top-flight side Lechia Gdańsk as First Team Assistant Coach. He will work alongside experienced manager John Carver, who took charge of the squad in December 2024.
Tait makes the move to senior men’s football after most recently holding the role of U18 Lead (PDP) at Coventry City, where he was responsible for developing elite talent in the EFL Championship club’s Academy system. His work in that position followed an impressive stint with Middlesbrough FC’s Academy.
The skilled football professional brings with him a breadth of coaching, scouting, and development experience, earned across the UK and abroad.
A former professional player with spells at Newcastle United, Darlington, Ross County, and St Johnstone, Tait’s career in coaching has been underpinned by a commitment to continuous learning.
He holds the UEFA A Licence, UEFA Elite Youth A Licence, and FA Advanced Youth Award, alongside qualifications in sporting directorship, performance psychology, talent identification, and sport science.
Now stepping into first-team football in the Polish Ekstraklasa, Tait will support John Carver in navigating the unique challenges at Lechia Gdańsk, a club undergoing significant transition on and off the pitch.
Former Scotland Assistant Manager Carver took the reins in the second half of the 2024/25 season and successfully steered the team away from relegation. His impact earned recognition across the league, with Carver later nominated for Ekstraklasa Coach of the Season.
Tait’s move reflects his continued progression in the professional game and his readiness to contribute in high-performance environments at the senior level.
We’re proud to support him on this exciting next step in his coaching career and look forward to following his progress in Poland.
