Katie Rowson Appointed Assistant Head Coach at Aberdeen Women
- Rowson will take on the combined role of Strategic & Technical Lead and Assistant Head Coach
- She was previously Women's Academy Technical Director at Everton

Football Careers are delighted to see client Katie Rowson appointed as Strategic & Technical Lead and Assistant Head Coach of Aberdeen Women’s First Team. She had most recently been at English side Everton, where she was Women’s Academy Technical Director.
Katie’s new role at Aberdeen is an exciting one that we believe she is the perfect fit for. Her new responsibilities include designing, implementing and delivering a brand new first team blue print, designing a football philosophy, game model and delivery framework to align with the team identity and to lead the cultural development of the workforce team and playing squad.
Alongside her role at Everton, where her responsibilities included overseeing the club’s PGA Category 1 Women’s Academy and being on the Women’s Technical Board, she has also worked as a Coach Mentor at The FA, an Assistant Manager at Coventry United and Head of Coaching at Chesterfield United.
She brings an appetite for knowledge and improving herself, which is displayed in her licences and certifications. Katie holds the LMA Diploma in Football Management, her UEFA A Licence and a NSCAA Premier Diploma from the United Soccer Coaches.
January was her first full month in her role and it was a busy one, that included four league games, two cup games, designing a recruitment strategy, designing a player development programme, structuring an analysis process, collaborating with the academy and visualising a game model.
Here at Football Careers we’re extremely excited for Katie and her new role. We believe that she is the ideal candidate for this combined role and we wish both her and Aberdeen all the best for the future.
