- Lancashire went on to feature for clubs across the English Football League, including Swindon Town FC and Rochdale AFC
Football Careers is thrilled to see client Olly Lancashire promoted to Academy Manager (U17 – U21) at Championship side Southampton FC.
Lancashire — who spent the early days of his playing career at the Saints — has been at the club since 2021, starting out in a Support Player role where he acted as both a B Team coach and player.
He then became Head of Player Strategy in 2024. During his tenure, Lancashire helped increase the number of PDP players going on loan to league clubs and mentored those transitioning from the Academy to the first team.
With 377 professional games played across EFL clubs, including Swindon Town, Rochdale, and Crewe Alexandra, Lancashire has a deep well of experience to draw from in supporting players as they progress in elite football.
The UEFA Pro Licence holder has also worked with Manchester United FC Head of Football, Jason Wilcox, current Leicester City FC manager, Russell Martin, and Cardiff City FC’s Brian Barry-Murphy.
Lancashire’s new role will see him in charge of the U17 to U21 groups at Southampton FC.
Football Careers is delighted to see Olly gain a well-earned promotion at a club he knows inside out, in a role that is a natural progression from his previous positions. We wish both him and Southampton all the best in the coming seasons.
