Paddy Byrne Appointed New International Academy Technical Manager at Everton FC
Paddy Byrne has been appointed the new International Academy Technical Manager at English Premier League club Everton.
The Football Careers client, who recently celebrated his seventh anniversary working for the Goodison Park outfit, has come through the ranks and is a highly respected figure at the Toffees.
From Primary School Coach to Foundation Phase and then Youth Development Phase Coach, the UEFA A Licence holder, currently studying for his English FA Advanced Youth Award, has progressed step by patient step.
Now his latest move up comes in the throes of a hectic season that also saw him appointed the new First Team Coach at rejuvenated former English Football League club Macclesfield FC who are continuing their rebirth in the Northern Premier League Division One West.
Byrne mixes his role with Everton’s international Academy with his work at The Silkmen who are five points clear at the top of their division ahead of Saturday’s away clash at Newcastle Town. Paddy stressed:
“I owe a special thanks to Everton for allowing me to work at Macclesfield because I believe it will develop me both as a coach and an individual. I have aspirations to work with first team players and I know I need to connect with them just as I have in the past with pros and players from U6 – U23 in other settings.”
Macclesfield FC are a phoenix club risen from the ashes of Macclesfield Town, who were wound up by the High Court three years ago after slumping into financial trouble in England’s National League.
Car tycoon Robert Smethurst took over the club and appointed Wales legend and TV pundit Robbie Savage as a board member.
They climbed out of the North West Premier Division and now Paddy is relishing the chance to be part of the next chapter in that story.
Yet Everton always remains his core job and the latest elevation for the one-time Rangers Community Development coach shows that he is mastering his career balancing act admirably.
