Pete Shuttleworth joins Wycombe Wanderers
- Shuttleworth was most recently assistant to Wayne Rooney at Plymouth Argyle
- He joins Wycombe with the club in second place in League One
Football Careers are thrilled to announce that client Pete Shuttleworth has been appointed First Team Coach at Wycombe Wanderers. He joins the League One side as they look for promotion back to the Championship.
He will join under manager Mike Dodds, who was made Wycombe manager at the beginning of February after Matt Bloomfield joined Luton Town. The Chairboys are currently in the automatic promotion places in second place, six points behind Birmingham in first, but with a five-point cushion to Wrexham in third. Wycombe are the premier attacking side in the division, having scored 58 goals in 31 games.
Shuttleworth was most recently at Championship side Plymouth Argyle alongside former manager Wayne Rooney. He has also been an Assistant Coach at Birmingham and D.C. United, First Team Analyst & Coach at Derby County, and Head of Performance Analysis at Birmingham. His experience and knowledge make him the ideal candidate, especially with his expertise for EFL football.
Wycombe’s Chief Football Officer Dan Rice said:
“Their experience and expertise will be invaluable in supporting Mike and the squad as we continue to build on our ambitions… Pete’s wealth of analytical and coaching experience will strengthen our approach both on and off the pitch.”
Pete will take on his role at Wycombe alongside his responsibilities at the Football Association of Ireland, where he is a Technical Coach. In that role, he is responsible for conducting thorough opposition analysis, assisting with the development of game plans and match tactics, ensuring all training sessions are in line with game plans, and planning and preparing set-play routines.
We’re extremely excited for Pete, who is joining a club on the rise and hopeful of promotion to the Championship this season. We wish both him and Wycombe all the best in their promotion push and beyond.
