Tunisian legend Radhi Jaïdi has been appointed the new Head Coach of Algerian top-tier club Paradou AC.
Football Careers client Jaïdi takes over the reins at the Algiers-based club after a spell back in his homeland with Espérance de Tunis, whom he led to a Tunisian Super Cup victory in 2021.
The 48-year-old said: “I am thrilled to be joining Paradou AC and I’m looking forward to starting an exciting journey with the club. I believe we can achieve great things.”
As a central defender, Jaïdi was one of Africa’s most decorated players, earning more than a century of caps for Tunisia. He was a stalwart of the Tunisian team which won the 2004 African Cup of Nations and, as captain, led his country in the 2008 tournament.
The latter half of Radhi’s playing career was spent in England where he became a firm favourite with fans of Bolton Wanderers, Birmingham City, and Southampton.
After hanging up his boots in 2012, Jaïdi remained at Southampton in an international development role before becoming Head Coach of the club’s U23 side.
He moved to America in 2019 as Head Coach of USL club Hartford Athletic, then returned to Europe as Assistant Manager of Belgian First Division club Cercle Brugge before joining his former club Espérance de Tunis in 2021.
We’re wishing Radhi all the best as he embarks on a new journey with Paradou AC in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1.
