Sean Crighton Appointed Head Coach at Queen’s Park
- Crighton had most recently been in charge of the B team at Queen's Park
- He previously led Hamilton Academical's youth side into the UEFA Youth League
We’re excited to announce that client Sean Crighton has been appointed Head Coach at Queen’s Park. He had most recently been in charge of the Hampden club’s B side, a job he achieved through incredible talent and hard work in a search process conducted by Football Careers.
Sean had a playing career spanning from 2008 to 2024, where he played for sides such as Montrose, Morton, Airdrieonians, Livingston, and Stenhousemuir, clinching the Scottish League One title twice with Greenock Morton and Livingston.
He began his coaching career in 2018, when he began coaching Morton’s reserve and U20 sides, winning the 2017-18 SPFL Development League. Sean then moved up to become Head of Youth Pathways at the Scottish club. From there, he became a Player/First Team Coach at Airdrieonians, finishing second in the SPFL League One in 2020-21.
His stint at Hamilton Academical was particularly impressive. In his five-year spell at the club – where he coached the U15s, U16s, and U18s – Sean coached the side that won the SFA Club Academy Scotland Elite League in 2022-23 and managed the team in the UEFA Youth League.
Sean then led Queen’s Park B team to Reserve League success last season, gaining him the reputation and opportunity to secure the first team job.
Queen’s Park President Graeme Shields told club media:
“On behalf of the club, I am delighted to have appointed Sean to the role as First-Team Head Coach. Over the past year, he has displayed impressive leadership qualities around our training complex at Lochinch, working with both the first team and the B team, who he successfully led to a second consecutive SPFL Reserve League title.
“Sean will now begin appointing his coaching staff and prepare the first team squad for their return to pre-season training next month ahead of the new campaign.
“I’d also like to place on record the club’s thanks to Steven MacLean, who has left his position as interim head coach, having helped retain the club’s place in the 2025-26 William Hill Championship.”
We’re thrilled for both Sean and Queen’s Park, and we wish them all the success in the coming seasons.
