- Sean is settling into a new role in Finland
- The position sees him working with the U15 and U18 age groups
Sean Mooney has landed an exciting new role in the Girls Academy at Finnish champions
HJK Helsinki.
The Scottish coach, a UEFA B Licence holder, is thrilled with the chance to broaden his horizons
working with a club who are traditionally seen as the powerhouse outfit in the Veikkausliga.
Sean revealed: “I am going to be working in the Girls Academy at HJK with the U15s age group
as well as the U18s B team.
“This is a dream opportunity for myself to go and coach in the Scandic region and one which I am confident will push me and my ambitions in football to the next level. It will be a great challenge but it’s one that I am prepared and ready for.”
Sean’s story is one of drive and determination and education. He holds a BA (Hons) in Football Coaching and Management and is now settling into his new challenge abroad. He said:
“I first reached out to the club regarding my aims in May this year and paid a visit in June to meet and present to them in person.
“To be told I would be heading to Helsinki to start in November gave me great joy and satisfaction. I must say a massive thanks to Academy Manager, Hans Lahti, for his show of faith and belief to bring me into the club from Scotland.”
