Stephen Dobbie appointed First Team Coach at Blackpool
- Dobbie had previously been Senior Professional Development Phase Coach at the club
- His playing career included spells at Queen of the South, Swansea City, Crystal Palace and Brighton
Football Careers client Stephen Dobbie has been appointed First Team Coach at League One club Blackpool, where he had previously been a Senior Professional Development Phase Coach.
Before moving into coaching full-time, Stephen had a long and fruitful playing career. He featured for the likes of Queen of the South, Swansea City, Crystal Palace, and Brighton, scoring over 150 goals. Stephen also made the PFA Scotland Team of the Year on three separate occasions whilst in the Scottish Championship, twice finishing as the top scorer in the division.
He began his coaching journey while still playing at AFC Fylde, where he managed the club’s under-18s side. In his first season as manager, Stephen won three trophies and was named the North-West Youth Alliance Manager of the Season. After just under two years in the position, he moved to Blackpool, where he has remained since.
Stephen’s experience, alongside his qualifications – which include the UEFA A Licence in Coaching – make him the perfect choice for The Seasiders, where he will work underneath Head Coach Steve Bruce.
We wish Stephen and Blackpool all the best this season!
