Stevie Grieve wins Manager of the Month at SJK

  • He wins the Veikkausliiga Manager of the Month award for April after four wins and a draw
  • Grieve has been in charge of SJK since late 2023, after managing their reserve side

Football Careers client Stevie Grieve has been named Manager of the Month in the Finnish Veikkausliiga, we are delighted to announce. He is currently manager of Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho, more commonly known as SJK. 

Grieve initially joined SJK’s reserve side SJK Akatemia in 2023, before going on to be Assistant then Head Coach of the first team.

In his first season with the reserve side, Grieve led them to the play-offs, giving Akatemia a chance to gain promotion to the same division as their parent side.

He was then named manager of the first team late in 2023 and in 2024, he guided the club to a place in the Championship group of the league. 

Grieve won the Manager of the Month award for April 2025 after starting the season with a club-record-breaking four wins in a row against FC KTP, HJK Helsinki, IFK Mariehamn, and AC Oulu. His side scored nine goals and conceded just four across the games.

It marks a strong start to the season for SJK Seinäjoki, who currently sit second in the table behind 2024 Veikkausliiga winners KuPS. Last year, SJK secured a fourth-place finish in the league and reached the semi-final of the Finnish Cup. Grieve will be looking to build on that as the season progresses.

Before his move to Finland, the UEFA A Licence holder coached at clubs across Canada, India, and Switzerland. He is skilled in analysis and player recruitment, and has held roles in these fields with the likes of Forest Green Rovers, St Johnstone, and Dundee United.
