The LMA welcomes a new Member Services Manager
- Michael Gilmore has been appointed to the role following a thorough recruitment process, led by Football Careers expert team

Following a comprehensive recruitment campaign on behalf of our client the League Managers Association (LMA), Football Careers is pleased to report another successful placement.
The LMA acts as the collective, representative voice of all managers from the Premier League, the Sky Bet Championship, Sky Bet Leagues 1 and 2, and the Barclays Women’s Super League and Barclays Women’s Championship.
Established in 1992, the LMA has become an important part of the football industry. It has continued to develop its support and service offerings for its members, growing and evolving to meet new challenges in football and increasing its influence within the game.
The LMA’s members are at the heart of the association, which is why its Member Services team is essential to providing outstanding support, services, and representation.
This summer, Football Careers was retained by the LMA to help them find the right candidate for the position of Member Services Manager. With a diverse remit, the Member Services Manager is responsible for several key areas, including developing and delivering one-to-one services, communicating with and assisting members, and contributing to programmes offered by the LMA Institute of Leadership and High Performance.
After a thorough recruitment process, Michael Gilmore emerged as the leading candidate. With a strong background in sports account management, community outreach, and strategic partnership development — underpinned by an Honours degree in Sports Coaching — Michael is well-positioned to handle the varied responsibilities of the Member Services Manager role.
He has previously worked as a Football Development Officer, and spent over four years with Premier League side Leicester City as a Grassroots Coordinator (Supporter Engagement). In that position, Michael contributed to the club winning the Best Fan Engagement Award at the Football Business Awards in 2021. He also played a key role in successfully adapting engagement strategies as football clubs around the world navigated the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Michael has been settling into his new role with the LMA since earlier this month, and Football Careers is delighted to have brought them together.
